In original dustjacket, with some chipping and closed tears. 4cm closed tear to rear panel of jacket, otherwise good and not price-clipped. Ed van der Elsken's photographic story of the 1950s Bohemian Left Bank of Paris in the 1950s is an important work of documentary photography, with the book design (although unstated) by Jurriaan Schrofer. The subjects "dine on half a loaf, smoke hashish, sleep in parked cars or on benches under the plane trees (.) Some of them write, or paint, or dance.
