About this Item
First edition of the author's second collection - one of 2250 copies (Sagar & Tabor A3). Inscribed by Hughes: "To Janos from your friend Ted, August 13th 1960". Hungarian poet Janos Csokits became a friend of Hughes in the 1960s when they began working together on poetry translations. Loosely inserted is a copy of `The Observer' review by Al Alvarez in which he states, "Hughes has found his own voice, created his own artistic world and has emerged as a poet of the first importance. It is the world of his first book but refined and strengthened." A nice copy in slightly worn, expertly cleaned dustwrapper. Seller Inventory # 20892
