The binding is tight and hinges intact. The dust jacket is soiled and age-toned, with wear to edges and folds. It is price clipped. *".fifty hitherto uncollected essays, written between 1886 and 1950. His subjects range from Home Rule and the Parnell-O'Shea scandal to the theatre of his childhood and Oscar Wilde, from the 1916 Easter uprising and the Civil War to the American tour of the Irish Players and Protestantism v. Roman Catholicism, from partition and Irish neutrality in the second World War to censorship and the children of the Dublin slums.".
