1923 London, 1st edn, 267pp, illus. MEMORIES., of all of Lyell's books, is a peculiar title in that it is part autobiography, part travel log, and part pungent commentary on the author's perceptions of the creatures--both man and beast--he had known in Africa. This book also has a chapter on India. There is plenty of African hunting in Zambia and Zimbabwe, then known as Central Africa. A very good minus copy with visible wear on binding.
