Oblong 4to. (28 cm.) unpaged [16p]. Profusely (!) illustrated with black and white and color captioned photos. Interior pages are stiff card stock. Stiff grey wrappers with a wire comb binding with front cover printed in black and with an actual black and white photo of 12 aircraft flying in formation over a celebration at Chino Field laid on within photo corners and with rear cover showing a color image of a young woman astride the Cal-Aero logo and holding a professional film camera. A few dings around the edges, wire comb intact and rust free, tiny rubbed spot on inside of front wrapper, all internal images in fine condition, else near fine to fine with no internal markings. Chino Airport (IATA: CNO, ICAO: KCNO, FAA LID: CNO) is a county-owned general aviation airport about three miles southeast of Chino, in San Bernardino County, California. Cal-Aero Academy, founded by Major C.C. Moseley, was an independent flying school at Chino Airport when World War II started. The U.S. Army Air Forces contracted with the school to provide basic and primary flight training for Army Air Cadets. During the war, Cal-Aero operated the training base with Stearmans and BT-13s. The name "Cal-Aero" is preserved at the airport and it can be seen on several buildings. Corliss Champion Moseley (1894-1974) was a United States Army aviator and later civilian trainer. Following his service in World War I, where he was credited with one aerial victory, he was in charge of all United States Army Air Service schools. As a civilian, he set up flying schools which are estimated to have taught over 25,000 pilots and 5,000 mechanics, mostly for service in World War II. He was also a business executive, either helping found or organize Western Air Express (which later became Western Airlines). Young Eagles is a program created by the US Experimental Aircraft Association designed to give children between the ages of 8 to 17 an opportunity to experience flight in a general aviation airplane while educating them about aviation. The program is offered free of charge with costs covered by the volunteers. It was launched in 1992 and, by 2016, has flown more than 2 million children in 90 countries. The actor and pilot Harrison Ford served as Chairman 2004-2009. He is shown in one picture with children in the program.
