No inscriptions, name plates, or ex libris stickers. No DJ as issued. Publishers original burgundy cloth. All very good . Beautifully decorated with gilt leaves up and down the spine (which is not faded).One really minute snag to spine (hardly visible). Top and bottom of spine very slightly worn, but not a lot. No shelf wear to burgundy boards. The front and back boards are very good indeed with just a few very slight self coloured wear marks. The top outside edges of the pages ( looking from the outside) are gilt edged and in excellent condition. Foxing to outer(outside) edges of pages at side and bottom. The endpapers are intact, not marked, but discoloured (light brown). Charming frontispiece which is tissue guarded. (tissue intact). List of plates. The book is tightly bound and the spine is tight. A descriptive work regarding UK houses with moats, including Bisham Abbey, Parham Hall and Hever Castle. Written by W. Outram Tristram, an author and novelist, best known for his work Coaching Days and Coaching Ways. An excellent tightly bound copy in very good condition considering that this book is over 123 years old at time of input.
