Blue endpapers, title page in red and black with frontispiece of the Newbold estate in Laverock, PA. with a preface by Owen Wister, and articles by Paul P. Cret, Edmund B. Gilchrist, Matlack Price, Arthur I. Meigs, and George Howe. Filled with architectural drawings, landscape plans and b/w photos of private homes and public buildings, mostly in the Philadelphia area. Includes the estates of Caspar W. Morris - this book was purchased from the Morris estate library and laid-in is a clipping on the estate. Also estates of Howe, McIlhenny, McCracken, Dulles, Beale, Meigs, Ward, Biddle, Leeds, Yarnall, etc. etc. and public buildings for the Philadelphia Zoo, the Pickering Hunt Club, the Phi Gamma Delta Fraternity House for Penn, the Princeton Charter Club, etc. etc. Large book is tight, square, relatively sharp-cornered and free of major flaws or markings inside and out, other than stamp on title page "Huntington Public Library".
