Volume one is illustrated with four colour folding composite sectional models and over two hundred in-text figures. Volume two is illustrated with six colour folding composite sectional models and over two hundred in-text figures. Collated complete. A comprehensive study of the modern conditions of manufacturing and the economy of production, with reference to the increased accuracy of the workmanship when using well-designed and well-built machine tools over other available options. This work describes different machines by organizing them into defined groups and providing examples of their common uses. Written by Sir James Weir French, the Chairman of Barr and Stroud Engineers and Instrument Makers and Optical Glass Manufacturers. With a forward by John Dewar Cormack, a Scottish professor of Civil Engineering at Glasgow University. In the original green cloth binding. Externally, very smart with light rubbing and bumping to the extremities. Minor fading to the spine with the odd small mark to the boards. Internally, firmly bound.
