Complete with its unclipped dust wrapper, rarely seen in the first trade edition.A collection of articles, poems, and sketches contributed by soldiers with the aim to assist the funds of the 'Royal Star and Garter Home' for disabled soldiers and sailors. A fascinating work edited by Frederick Treves and George Goodchild. Containing first-hand stories from the experiences of the soldiers, illustrated with sketches throughout.Complete with its scarce, unclipped dust wrapper. With a coloured frontispiece and plate. In the original publisher's full cloth binding. Externally sound with minor shelf wear, faint damp markings to the boards, minor marks to the rear board. Minor loss to the lower joint.
