About this Item
A Soviet era biography of Bolshevik poet and playwright Vladimir Mayakovsky that covers the final five years of the poet's life. Mayakovsky was an innovative poet who was a leader in the Russian Futurism movement and also a populist enthusiast of the Bolshevik Revolution. In the last years of his life, his work became politically touchy, particularly two plays that were roundly panned by Soviet critics. Lertsov was the leading Soviet biographer of Mayakovsky. Brown cloth, 381 pages, illustrated. Text in Russian (cyrillic). Published in the Soviet Union. Seller Inventory # 005417
