IAN FLEMING - ON HER MAJESTY'S SECRET SERVICE, published by New American Library (NAL), copyright 1963, First Printing (states "First Printing, September 1963" on copyright page with no references to subsequent printings - there were at least 7 later printings of this trade edition which all clearly state as such), lists to "The Spy Who Loved Me" on list of Fleming books to left of title page, goldenrod endpapers with black & blue quarterbound cloth boards and gold gilt spine lettering & black front board lettering, glossy dust jacket, $4.50 price on DJ front flap. NOTE - FOR SOME REASON THIS BOOK HAS BECOME QUITE SCARCE OVER THE LAST FEW YEARS. PRINTING VARIANT - BOUND WITH DOUBLE (EXTRA SET) FRONT ENDPAPERS.
Book has no creased page corners, flat white pages with sharp outer page corners, no foxing to pages or endpapers or outer page edges, yellow top stain is free of drop spots or fading, hint of age darkening/dust soiling to outer page edges, endpapers are clean and free from any tape residue or discoloration, no former owner's markings or used bookseller stamps/stickers inside, hint of fading/wear to spine lettering, no wear to board edges, corners or spine tips, tiny bumped board corner, no discoloration/soiling to boards (just a hint of handling/dust soling near edges).
Dust jacket has tiny nick loss at spine tips, vertical crease on spine otherwise no chipping or tearing or creasing, slight wear to spine tips, almost no wear to front flap crease (nick losses at flap crease corners), barest hint of wear to left on spine, no color rubbing, almost no edge wear, almost no dust soiling to white panels (common defect with this all white DJ), otherwise no soiling or staining.
Overall a FINE- book in VG+ condition dust jacket (not price clipped) of an Ian Fleming U.S. 1st printing hardcover book. I have a number of other U.S. and U.K. Ian Fleming James Bond 1st printing hardcover appearances up for sale. Seller Inventory # ABE-1772515567241
