Item description from seller

First edition, Oxford University Press, 1971: Adam Parry's collected edition of his father Milman Parry's papers on oral poetry, including English translations of the two French dissertations and extracts from the Jugoslavian journal. Dark blue cloth, the spine lettered in gilt with the Oxford device at the foot, in the original dust jacket under a cellophane library wrapper. An ex-library copy: call-number label and reinforcing tape at the spine, "Michigan State Library" stamped on the top edge of the text block, a RELEASED stamp and adhesive residue from a removed pocket on the rear endpapers, and light pencil marginal marks in the introduction; the jacket is rubbed and toned with the tape showing at the spine ends. The boards are clean and square, the binding tight, and the text block clean and bright throughout the Greek, a very good copy in a good jacket, unclipped at 6.00 pounds net.
