Uncommon original pigeon-coop photo DJ that was changed in later printings. Original $2.50 price intact on front flap. Book is tight. Binding and hinges are sound. Navy cloth-covered panels stamped in gilt titles. Minor shelf-rubbing along panel edges. Pages are clean. Front endpaper has tiny ghost shadow of old price-sticker, and erased pencil price on upper right corner of front endpaper. Minor touch of toning in gutter, barely. Uncommon original DJ shows a couple of tiny chips along top edge. A nice copy of the pigeon classic that has gone on to multiple printings. The author's papers are with the College of Charleston to benefit future pigeon study, and rearing. Levi was the co-founder of the Palmetto Pigeon Plant, and served as both a patron of pigeon culture, as well as an expert in the economics of the business of raising pigeons.
