Victor Gollancz Ltd. 1944. First edition. Hardback, with DW. Red boards, worn, with bumped corners and spine. Pages and lightly browned, particularly along the edges. Pencil ownership inscription to front endpapers. Ephemera loosely inserted. Pages 243-248 lightly damaged along top edge, missing small portions, not affecting text. Worn and chipped wrapper is missing small portions, not affecting text. This wrapper has been unskillfully repaired with tape on the rear panel. Spine of wrapper strongly sunned, with some marking extending to front and rear panels.
