About this Item
First American edition. Translated from the German by Stuart Hood. Modest toning on the endpapers, light spotting on the spine, very good or better in a very good dust jacket with several nicks and short tears, and a modestly toned spine with a faint dampstain at the crown. A German novel describing the upheaval and ruin of a serene agricultural society. Juenger was a decorated soldier in the German Army and best known for his memoir of World War I, *Storm of Steel.* During World War II he rejected Nazism, and was discharged from the army for being indirectly involved in a plot to assassinate Hitler. The author's first novel. A nice copy in the notoriously fragile jacket. Seller Inventory # 542010
