Slender stapled wrappers. 4 1/2" wide by 5 1/2" tall. Scarce artist book created by Surrealist Joseph Cornell. Staples rusting, else a pristine unused copy still in original mailing envelope, With spectacular provenance having come directly from Cornell's family. One of only 100 self-published copies. A small handful of which were tucked away by the family and never issued. The only difference between this copy and the ones that Cornell actually presented to friends is that it lacks the tiny photograph he would affix to the rear pastedown before mailing. Otherwise this is identical. Includes the laid-in blue tissue and the engraved vignette. Scarce and beautiful with superb provenance. (further details can be provided for purchaser).
