Scarce 1931 first edition (later editions changed publisher and illustrator). Yellow cloth boards with blue lettering and picture of Mary. Illustrated throughout in black and white. No dustjacket. Covers worn and grubby, spine particularly marked and torn at head and tail edges. Corners bumped and spine a little shelf-cocked. Pages generally browned with some spotting and the odd fingermark and crease, but text and illustrations generally all clear and readable. Prize label on front pastedown. Page edges a little browned and dustmarked. Spine shaken, front inner hinge (badly) repaired with tape but binding otherwise intact and textblock attached at eps.
