Stated first edition. Thin quarto coarse oatmeal cloth lettered in brown. Illustrated throughout with full-page and in-text color and b/w drawings by Paul Lantz. A fine copy in a very good dust jacket which has light fraying at the spine tips and light wear to the edges of the rear panel. Laid in is a 5 � by 8-inch sheet signed by Edmonds. Winner of 1942 Newbery Medal.
