This glossy red dust jacket shows moderate shelf wear. Surface has visible scuffing, dull spots, and light scratches, particularly on the front and back panels. Note bottom of spine, too. The Medical Cover has a small, closed tear (3/4") to front cover and a smaller one (1/4") to the back - as well as some light shelfwear. This is a two-book lot featuring variant covers of Timothy McSweeney s Quarterly Concern Issue No. 5, published in the very late summer of 2000. A cornerstone of indie literary publishing, McSweeney s offered fiction, experimental fiction, essays, and illustrations from both rising stars and established voices curated by Dave Eggers with the kind of eccentric production values that helped redefine the small press scene of the early 2000s. Included here are two versions: The Simple Red Cover , a minimalist red board with silver text understated and striking. The Medical Cover , one of the more notorious designs in the series, featuring a vintage anatomical illustration with a hauntingly altered face text above reads: Is staring like that why does he keep staring?
