Stated First Modern Library Edition, 1933 (confirmed by list of ML titles on jacket verso). Colonel G. F. Young's profile of the House of Medici, who wielded great power in Florence and Tuscany starting in the 14th century through the early 18th century. Per the jacket flap, this work "is recognized the world over as the final authority on this vital phase of the Italian Renaissance." With 32 aquatone reproductions of world-famous paintings referred to in the text. Also with a preface by the author, extensive end notes, and a fold-out genealogical tree of the Medici family.
