First ed. xxiv, 358, [2] pp. Small 12mo. Contemporary black crushed morocco decorated in gilt and ruled in gilt and blind. Spine decorated in gilt and blind with three raised bands and gilt-stamped red leather spine label, gilt roll to edges. Moderate edgewear, joints starting, somewhat rubbed. Inner dentelles decorated in blind, marbled endpapers; ex-libris bookplate and bookseller sticker to front pastedown. Internally generally clean and tight, all edges gilt; ink ownership and Dutter's signed and titled inscription in black ink to front blank recto, text block lightly toned, somewhat foxed, moderate text block edgewear. Good or better with bright, but somewhat worn, fore-edge painting. Very good condition. Fore-edge painting by Vera Elinor Dutter depicting "Sistine Madonna and Child," after Raphael, signed and titled, circa mid-20th century. Seller Inventory # 144124
