About this Item

This is the Gnome Press hardcover first edition, with "Copyright 1954" and LCCN 54-7254 on its copyright page. This book is in near fine condition, marred only by a bump on the base of its spine. Its binding is sound and square, with no spine crease. Covers are unmarked and otherwise unworn, with unfaded red titles on its front and side. Pages are unmarked and unworn, with no perceptible age toning to the paper. Its dust jacket, now protected by a removable mylar cover, is also in near fine condition: bright and whole, with a thin faint scrape on the top 1/4" of its spine folds, some shallow wrinkles at the base its spine, and some very faint smudges on its white back, but otherwise unmarked and unworn. I will ship this book in a moisture proof zip-loc bag, padded in bubble wrap, inside a sturdy box to assure it reaches its new owner in the same condition as my description.

All shipments will be via US Postal Service unless requested otherwise. Standard shipping within the USA will be via USPS Media Mail. Priority shipping within the USA will be via USPS First Class Mail.
My current Standard shipping rate within the USA is US$4.00 for the first book, and US$2.00 for additional books in the same order.
There are two situations where I will refund to the buyer a portion of the postage charged by ABEBOOKS: (1) Separate orders placed on the same date for shipment to the same address will be shipped together, so I will refund half of the postage paid for the first book in each such second and subsequent order. And (2) Books described as "paperbacks" in my descriptions weigh less than other books, so I will refund US$1.00 of the paid shipping fee for the 2nd and subsequent paperbacks in the same order shipping to the same address.
