Folding pedigree with manuscript additions."The name pf Baker occurs in the earliest register of the parish church of Swallowfield, Berks A.D.1539, and at frequent intervals down to recent times" Plates of "Hill House" Three Mile Cross, "Shipbridge" Manor, Swallowfield and House of John Baker Esq., Red Lion Hill, Hampstead. and Hargreave Rectory, Northamptonshire. (Shipsbridge apparently later known as Sheepsbridge). This copy from "The Western Reserve Historical Society" in Ohio with their bookplate on the front pastedown and blind stamp."A gift of C.P. & M.J. Van Sweringen - the" Vans" who developed Shaker Heights in Ohio. Library evidence is fairly subtle. Bound in original gilt titled brown cloth boards, with spine strengthened rather crudely with brown tape.Hinges superficially cracked. Internally very good. Uncommon. See Scans and email for more.
