A scarce set of the memoirs of the exiled French politician, Jean-Guillaume. First Edition. Both volumes feature tissue-guarded frontispieces. Contains 24 illustrated plates. 'Translated and abridged by Frances Jackson'. Complete in two volumes. Jean-Guillaume, baron Hyde de Neuville (24 January 1776 28 May 1857) was a French aristocrat, diplomat, and politician. In cloth bindings. Externally, sound with some shelfwear and sunning to the spine. Bolton's Library labels to the front boards. Internally, firmly bound. Generally bright and clean with just a few scattered spots. Some marks to the endpapers. The rear free endpaper of volume II is partially adhered to the verso of the final page.
