Marbled paper covered boards. Brown leather spine and corners. Black leather title labels, gilt decorations and raised bands on the spines. Blueish marbled end papers and text blocks. Ex-institutional copy with St. Bernard's Seminary Library book plate on the front paste downs. Leather is lightly rubbed on the spines and corners and edge worn head and base of the spine. Frontispiece engraving and title page are foxed. First published in Philadelphia in 1820 without a map. The English edition has an approx. (15" x 16") square map.
