H. H. Asquith was Prime Minister of the UK 1908-1916. He was the last prime minister to lead a majority Liberal government and lead Britain into WWI. This is his 2 volume memoirs, published after his death. No previous owner marks - text, illustrations, and maps clean and bright. Fold-out map in Volume 2 is present. Both volumes bound in green cloth with gilded top page edges. Dust jackets both age darkened. Dust jackets have moderate edgewear including small tears, most serious of which are very small missing pieces at the spine edges. Slipcase is present, but is missing the top panel entirely, slipcase in Poor condition. Dust jackets protected in Mylar. Ships same or next business day well protected in a box. ; 8vo 8" - 9" tall. The owner, Jasper Shannon was a history professor at several colleges and the author of at least two books. Volume two has a few pages with rust spots and indentations where there were once paper-clips.
