Printed broadside on wove paper, measuring 25 x 38 inches, with minor wear to extremities. The broadside prints the French text of President Woodrow Wilson's message to Congress, 2 April 1917, calling for a declaration of war against Germany. The resulting congressional vote brought the United States into World War I, much to the relief of England and France, where this broadside was circulated, and its message embraced. A significant historical artifact.
