Streeter Sale 155: "Riley's report gives details of the expedition in 1829 with an account of an attack by the Indians on the wagon train."Wagner-Camp 41: "Four companies of the Sixth Regiment of Infantry comprised the escort of a caravan of traders bound for Santa Fe. They escorted the caravan as far as the Cimmaron River, then returned to Chouteau's Island on the Arkansas River where they were subjected to several days' attacks by Indians.
