Add to basketSquarish 8vo, [18]pp, printed wrappers, saddle-stitched. One of 500 copies (of which fifty were printed on Edelpapier), lithographed from original calligraphy by Hertha Ramsauer, this copy has been briefly inscribed and signed by Larisch near the top of the first leaf. Rudolf v. Larisch (1856-1934) was a part of the Viennese Secession-group who defined the Austrian Jugendstil. As a practioner and theoretician of lettering, he exerted a strong influence on the artists of the Wiener-Werkstatte, and as professor at the Kunstgewerbeschule ran a highly regarded workshop in calligraphy and book arts. Hertha Ramsauer, who had studied with the great Kolomon Moser, became Larisch's assistant, eventually married him, and carried on the workshops after his death. This little booklet is a personal and partly technical essay on sailing, including illustrations and diagrams. Few wrinkles, small ink inscription at bottom of first leaf, very good.
