A very scarce original programme for the laying of the stone in the southern abutment of the Putney Bridge, on 12th July 1884. First edition. Very scarce work. With a frontispiece and a folding plan. Collated complete. An original description and programme for the occasion of the laying of the stone at the southern abutment of the Putney Bridge over the River Thames in west London, linking Putney on the south side with Fulham to the north. The stone was laid by their Royal Highnesses the Prince (later to become King Edward VII) and Princess of Wales, who would also open the bridge on 29 May 1886. Produced by the Metropolitan Board of Works. In the original paper wraps. Externally, sound with light wear and creasing to the extremities. Front panel detached but present with splits to the spine for other pages. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very bright and clean. Good Only.
