Volume 1 is the 8th edition [1807] + Folding frontises to both volumes with vol 1. Viii PP + 337 pages. Volume 2 1807 is a 1st edition] and has Vi pp + 292 pages with a 12 page publishers catalogue at the rear, in total there are 17 fold-out hand coloured aquatints with a folding parody theatre broadside purporting to be at The Haymarket Theatre, this printed on fine toned paper, woodcuts in the text, variant half calf, the binding worn with hinges showing on volume 2, volume 1 has bracketed pencilled areas in the margins (would erase) but in the main good+ to very good, plates mostly very clean one plate has become foxed, some edge wear on another and frontis has an old repair at the rear where once torn, the volumes are small Octavo, (2 volumes).

We are a small, single-owner business. We have been operating on and off since 1977 and our stock is varied, leaning towards antiquarian and 19th century with the addition of original aquatint and lithographic, or woodcut engravings. Also maps and Ephemera - in fact, anything interesting on paper really. We have in stock every item we list. We do not use stock photographs, but photograph each item individually. We very rarely use "fine" or "mint" as a description, mainly due to the age and the fact that 99.9% of what we sell has been pre-owned and therefor Fine would not be a term for a book we sell despite its fine-like appearance. We always take items back unreservedly if not in the condition as described. We always try to describe fully.…
