Gift quality 1950 hardcover in clean green cloth covered boards showing sharp tips and bumped spine ends. No writing, tears or soil and it is not a former library book. 255pp is foxed on fore-edge and darkened at head of page block. Un-clipped, original color illustrated dust wrapper has light soil on rear panel, but is complete and displays beautifully. The characters in Mixed Double make it more than a racing story; Pug Farston, the crippled steeplechase jockey, and his rich wife: Willie Winn, six stone of worsted, whalebone and freckles; and, above all, Colonel Tony Blundell, a retired cavalry officer, spendthrift and professional punter.
