Inscription on front flyleaf reads "From A.G. / James Sherman 1907" This copy might very well have belonged to Jim Sherman (1888-1972, owner of the famed National Magic Company in Chicago.) Original red pictorial cloth with gilt titles, silver coin image and additional black lettering on cover. Overall good, but there are some water stains and general wear to cloth. Original endpapers, no restoration and in reasonably sound condition. Standard age-toning to paper. 246 pages plus an extensive number of ads for various magic suppliers including Downs himself. SHIPPING CHARGES: Please note that about 13.5% of the shipping and handling charge is retained by AbeBooks as a fee levied against the bookseller and not passed along for purchasing postage and packaging supplies.
