A bright, clean, square, reasonably tight copy. Light foxing on a couple pages only. All other pages are clean and unmarked. NO owner's name or bookplate. Bound in the original gilt-decorated green cloth, with a handsome emblem in gold, red and black stamped on the front cover. Gilt is still bright and shiny (see photo). Illustrated with 26 portraits, facsimile letters, and some drawings by Moltke (one foldout; three double page; two in color). This is a study of the architect of Prussia's victories over Austria (1866) and France (1870-71). It is based on Moltke's literary remains and first hand accounts of him. First Edition. Hardcover.
