About this Item

A grateful, rescued man and a beautiful, strong woman. no DJ flap "blurb" on this early jacketed beauty, so we're left to imagine how things might shake out for the waterlogged couple pictured on the front cover. Price intact dust jacket with "Price $1.50" on spine panel, and copyright page with "Copyright, Canada, 1915, by Gilbert Parker", with no other printings noted. Gilt stamped cloth, head and tail bands, illustrated w. six illustrations inc. frontis, with two being double page illustrations. Volume w. some speckling to cloth coating, top edge dusty, one leaf lacks bottom corner, p.o. ink name to ffep, pencil price of "1.50" to rear pastedown, a few spots to eps and fore-edges, else a clean and unmarked copy. DJ lightly soiled with some short tears and shallow chips, a 2.5 inch closed tear at foot of front flap fold and a small, partial offset from the p.o. signature onto front flap. A nice copy, still in it's original priced dust jacket.
