19x12.5 cm. Paper wrappers and backstrip, well worn, chipped at edges, front wrapper and first signature detached. Backstrip is chipped by title is still fully legible. Moderate scattered staining. 231 pp. This appears to be the first edition, as other issues are noted as such. Contains a collection of a woman's letters sent from Kansas over a six-month period from September, 1855 to April, 1856. This is a rare copy of this work in wrappers, as other copies noted are bound in cloth. Published by John P. Jewett and Co. of Boston and Cleveland.
