A 1st edition (stated) of a late 1930s mystery. It bridges Rath's two mystery series with Rocky Allan, sheriff of a rural county not far from San Francisco, and couturier Michael Dundas and his wife Valerie. They work together to solve the mystery surrounding a kidnapping. No DJ. Orange boards with black lettering and decoration. Light wear to the boards. Previous owner inscription on the FFEP.
