First Edition, 1805.Old leather boards, scuffed, edgeworn. Front & rear covers detached . Leather spine has 1" piece off bottom and 1/2" piece off top. Title page is chipped around the perimeter (worse at bottom edge). 112 pages. Pages 1 through 40 as a sewn unit are detached from spine .Pages 41 through 112 are attached to the spine. The paper is tanned with occasional spotting. The hymns are printed using conventional notation. Obviously this is a copy to be rebound. The front cover contains the signature of "W. Woodyear . Delaware 1843 " done in an elaborate script. The front boards pastedown is signed "William W. Fay ~ 1843" also in fancy script. Oblong boards : 9 1/4 x 5 1/2. Olmsted played fife in the Lexingtom Alarm in 1775, also serving as a musician during the Revolution, fought in the Battle of White Plains & later re-enlisted to fight in the War of 1812. A very scarce item in need of complete rebinding. It would be good to keep the original worn leather covers incorporated as part of its history/ownership. Please "Ask Bookseller" if this is available before ordering. Seller Inventory # 2645
