8 pages + 20 single sided pages of an actual photographs of instruments glues to each page with printed description below. Condition original Folio brown card hard back binding in fair/good condition, some wear, good strong spine with some wear. Contents fair, No inscriptions, Victorian owner's decorative book-plate of Samuel Rigby inside front cover, as quite thick pages, the original gutta-percha glue has disintegrated as usual, so all pages detached, some have damaged edges, some have foxing, all the genuine photographs are good. Various photograph sizes inc 16.5 x 24.cm and 22 x 25.5 cm approx. in fact a rare early book with original photographs, At time of listing could not find another 1869 1st edition for sale, not surprising for such a rare large book with original tipped-in photographs . Size: 29 x 37cm.aprox.
