Printed and published by Mirza Muhammad Sadiq at the Ripon Printing Press, Lahore. xiv, (2), 276pp + (6)pp containing 6 b/w leader photo portraits + (10)pp containing 12 maps mostly full-page, 1 folding + (5)pp unindexed pages with national flags in colour. Covers near fine. Interiors mostly fine except for creasing, and a closed tear to one of the flag leaves. Most of the maps have been bound in the wrong place, but all are present. The maps of the Indo-Pakistan Sub-Continent, Western, and Eastern Pakistan each listed facing p112 are actually part of the same map bound in facing p104. This work seeks to define the newly formed state of Pakistan's place within the Muslim World: "there appears to be no work in which the story has been told completely, comprehensively, and sympathetically. Besides, the Muslim point of view has never been presented honestly and authentically. It is, therefore, the first effort of its type, and the book, the author trusts, may confidently be used as a work of reference on the Muslim peoples representing the Muslim point of view" (Preface). There are chapters on the Islamic Renaissance, Turkey, Iran, Afghanistan, Indian Muslims, Pakistan, Muslims in South East Asia, Burma, Malaya, Indonesia, the Philippines, Fiji, Islam in China, Islam in Soviet Russia, the Muslims of the Balkans, and the Muslim World in international affairs. Appendices contain area and population data, the Islamic Charter of Freedom, the Atlantic Charter, the UN, and NATO.
