About this Item
A very smart first edition of this novel from the Adjusters series by Mark Cross, with the original unclipped dust wrapper. First edition. Being the Twenty-First Exploit of Daphne Wrayne and her Four Adjusters. A letter in a bottle pulled from the Thames sets Wrayne and her Adjusters off on the trail of an amazing mystery of a young heiress who journeyed from Australia to claim Charles Wingate Marryat's estate. Written by Mark Cross, the pseudonym of Archibald Thomas Pechey, an English lyricist and novelist. After moving to Somerset, Pechey switched his pen-name from Valentine to Mark Cross and wrote over forty-five crime novels between 1934 and 1961, many of which followed the Adjusters. In the original blue cloth binding. Externally, very smart with light shelf wear only. Original unclipped dust wrapper is also very smart with light shelf wear and the old small closed tear to the extremities. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are very bright and clean with the odd spot. Near Fine. Seller Inventory # 873T65
