12mo. Blue cloth with black lettering and black and orange pictorial stamping. 241pp, (4pp ads). Frontispiece, Very good. Faint edgewear; text block moderately age toned. A tight, most attractive first edition of this first volume in an ambitious 12-volume "Newspaper Boys' Series" that never came to pass! Boxed advertisement opposite copyright page cites the "Renfro Horn Stories To Follow Shortly by the Same Author" and lists eleven more titles and four boxed ads following the last text page synopsize the first four titles. A pretty sharp copy of this pretty uncommon title with the funky title and fun front board graphics. Can a "series title" consist of one book only?.
