First issue of this short-lived pulp which ran for four issues and then changed its name toTrue Mystic Crimes. The original magazine, which was edited and published by important American pulp figure, "Captain Billy" Fawcett (1885-1940), combined nonfiction articles with stories and targeted women audiences with astrological and numerological love predictions, romance in the stories, and a spiritual bent. The magazine was also an early outlet for the stories of August Derleth, who acted as associate editor and wrote under the name of "Tally Mason." Scarce first issue of an obscure and intriguing pulp. 4to pulp magazine, 98pp. Illustrations, advertisements. Illustrated wrappers with front cover by Al Wilson. Small corner chip to front cover, spine rubbed and chipped at ends. Very good. Seller Inventory # 6593
