8vo., 24 pp., including woodcut frontispiece. Scattered light foxing and staining; untrimmed pages. Original publisher's woodcut illustrated paper wrappers which have a few small creases and light wear at the spine. A very good copy; housed in a quarter leather and cloth slipscase and cloth chemise. Rarely found in the unbound state. Howes H-61 "Probably by William P. Edwards in whose name it was copyrighted. Internal evidence points to him as also the perpetrator of similar questionable captivities ascribed to Mrs. Hannah Lewis and Mrs. Jane Lewis. The correct names of the Hall sisters were Rachel and Sylvia."; Ayer Collection No. 87 listing only the 1833 edition; Eberstadt 122: 163 " The Hall sisters were taken from a settlement on the Fox River in Illinois, in 1832 by Sauk and Fox.".
