Yellow cloth with gilt sp. lettering, generally clean and unworn but lib. label ghost lines across bottom sp. and slight double ridging to spine. xviii + 537; small round lib. stamps to f.e.p., half-title and t.p., accession stamp and number verso t.p., brown dotted top and bottom label removal ghost to f.e.p., otherwise clean, tight and unmarked. Classic US white liberal social Psychology text analysing race prejudice. Goes as far as he perhaps he was psychologically able at the time but implicit assumption that his readership is white occasionally unconsciously emerges (e.g. phrase ' people who live in close contact with Negroes ' p.217). Essential reading/ reference copy for those interested in topic's history.
