"As long as the rivers shall run and the grass shall grow," is a common phrase used in many Indian treaties conveying the concept of "forever" in a manner both conquered tribes & the U.S. Gov't understood. This volume, with words voiced by Willa Cather, Oliver la Farge & others, as well as from Navajo legends & songs, is illustrated with color photos by Philip Hyde.
