Frame: 18 x 14 inches. Some very mild spotting, else a Very Good copy. *** The Battle of Cherbourg occurred June 19th, 1864. This engraving appearing in Harper's Weekly, four weeks afterwards. The Alabama, commanded by Capt. Raphael Semmes, of the CSA navy was defeated by Capt. John Winslow, commanding the USS Kearsarge.
