Totzke" Rev. E. Totzke was director of the Lutheran Mission Society during its early years: 1907-1908. See final photo. This book was part of a large collection of German Lutheran books from the estate of Rev. Theodore C. Moeller, Sr., who was the founder and pastor of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of the Redeemer (a.k.a. Redeemer Lutheran Church) in Philadelphia from 1928 forward, including through World War II. Moeller graduated from the renowned Lutheran "Concordia Theological Seminary" in 1927, and he had a personal interest in studying the great Lutheran commentaries, sermons, and other works in their original German. About the author - from online sources: Johann David Frisch (1676-1742) was a German Lutheran theologian and author. He was a known to be a deacon at St. Leonhard, Stuttgart, Germany, in 1701; a preacher in 1714; general superintendent in 1720; and a member of the consistory in 1726.
