"Alfred S. Rix and Chastina Walbridge Rix started a shared journal in Peacham, Vermont, on their wedding day in July 1849. For almost five years they alternated entries, writing about everything from their roles within the marriage, to the birth and raising of their first child, to their differences when it came to deciding whether they should go to California along with many other Americans who were being drawn west by 'gold fever." - the Preface. They're trips to California, trying to be successful in the search for gold, and settling down in California rather than returning to Vermont are highlights of the book. We accept checks and all major credit cards. Prices are NET to all. PA residents
must add 6% sales tax.
Shipping charges within the continental limits of the U.S. are $9.50 for the
first book and $3.00 per each additional book, if shipped Media Mail. Should you prefer to ship via
either UPS or Priority Mail, mailing prices increase. All over-sized books and all shipments outside the U.S. will be charged actual shipping, insurance, and handling costs. All parcels
shall be shipped insured or with signature required.
All items may be returned within 7 days of receipt with prior notification. We
request any items for return be sent by their original shipping route, be well
packaged and fully insured.
Shipping terms
Shipping costs are based on books weighing 2.2 LB, or 1 KG. If your book order is heavy or oversized, we may contact you to let you know extra shipping is required.
