Presumed first edition (no direct statement provided) SIGNED BY THE AUTHOR. xii, 370 pages. Hardcover: H 28.5cm x L 22.25cm. Silver dust jacket rubbed, some bumping at spine ends, top corner of front flap is price-clipped. Black cloth with vibrant silver stamping to spine. Foxing to edges; faint foxing to endpapers. Five-line ink gift inscription on half-title page from Mary Davis and Alice Salatich who evidently were involved with Friends of the Cabildo and/or the Louisiana State Museum but neither of whom is acknowledged with the book's Preface. Leonard Huber's blue ink signature on title page. Interior pages are otherwise clean. Binding is firm. A very good copy in a very good+ dust jacket. Please note that this book has an approximate shipping weight of 4.25 pounds (1.92 kg) and will require additional postage for any postal class other than domestic Media Mail.
